12 Week Ultrasound

We had our 12 week ultrasound on Tuesday. It was a longer and more in depth one where they checked for chromosomal abnormalities. Everything checked out perfectly healthy-YAY! I also got to stare at my baby for a good 20 minutes-that was unbelievably cool! When we started I had actually fallen asleep waiting for the technician-hey they put a pregnant lady in a dark room, laying down, next to and ultrasound machine emitting white noise-it was bound to happen! So when they first looked in there The Bean was sleeping too. At first it freaked me out because it wasn't moving but then I saw the heartbeat =D And then The Bean woke up!

The Bean takes after its Daddy. He/she was all over the place-that kid does not sit still! The tech said "Your baby is VERY active. I need to follow it." He had that wand thingy all over my belly-it was crazy! I got to see the back and spine, the top of the head with the different regions of the brain and lots of profile pics! It is measuring 10 cm and looks just like a teeny tiny baby in there-so amazing!
